ISO/QS-9000 Quality Systems

QS-9000 is the United States auto industry version of the international IS0-9000 series of quality management standards.

QS-9000 Overview
This overview is designed to introduce new employees to the QS-9000 standards. Presented in a lecture and discussion format, the overview is ideal for bringing new employees and/or new management teams to a point of common knowledge about the purpose and general requirements of the standards.

QS-9000 System Facilitated Discussion
Transition of management personnel is a common challenge in business today. The result, related to QS-9000, is that personnel may quickly move into positions requiring QS-9000 responsibility without being sufficiently aware of the procedures specific to the organization. Facilitated discussion bring cross-functional teams together to examine QS-9000 requirements and the companies procedures and practices. This process helps organizations to identify areas of strength and weakness relative to the “shalls” of QS-9000. The facilitated discussion is especially valuable a few weeks prior to surveillance audits and can be tailored to specific areas of concern anticipated in the audit.
